I'm Michael Camarena, and Camarena Furniture & Design is mine — a one-person furniture operation working out of Lubbock and across the South Plains. I build custom pieces, furnish homes and businesses, and handle the work that goes with furniture: delivery, install, mounting, and moving. No showroom, no sales floor. Just the person who does the work, answering the phone.

How I got started
I've been around furniture for years. I learned the trade at Ramsowers, one of the established furniture names in this part of West Texas, and that's where most of what I know comes from. I learned to upholster. I learned to rebuild and finish frames. I learned how a piece is actually put together, and how to tell one that's built to last from one that's only built to sell. I spent those years with my hands on real furniture, day in and day out, until I knew the work well enough to do it my own way.
I started Camarena Furniture because I saw the same gap over and over. People wanted furniture that fit their space and their budget, built or sourced by someone they could actually talk to, and set up without a runaround. The big stores couldn't do it personally, and the online boxes couldn't do it at all. I could. So I do.
Eventually I wanted to build something of my own instead of someone else's. So I went out on my own and put my name on it. Now Camarena Furniture is where all of that experience goes to work for you, on every piece and every job, mine to stand behind.
What makes my work different
I'm the whole operation, and that's the point. When you call Camarena, you reach the person who builds the table, drives it to your house, and sets it where it goes. No handoffs, no "let me check with the installer," no markup for a showroom you'll never visit.
As a furniture maker in Lubbock, I work in solid materials and build to last in a climate that punishes furniture that wasn't. Dry West Texas air cracks cheap tops and loosens weak joints — I build with that in mind, and I'll tell you honestly when a piece is worth the investment and when it isn't.
The range is unusual for one person, and that's on purpose. I build custom, I furnish whole builds and offices, I sell pieces I've flipped, I mount and install, and I move and buy furniture. It all comes from the same place: I'd rather be the one call you make than one of five.
And I don't pitch. West Texas people can tell when someone's blowing smoke. I'd rather show you the work, give you a straight price, and let it stand.
Serving Lubbock and West Texas
Camarena Furniture is based in Lubbock and serves the South Plains and into eastern New Mexico — Plainview, Levelland, Muleshoe, Sudan, and out to Clovis and Portales. Because there's no storefront, the whole region is my service area instead of a single address. If you're inside about 120 miles, I can get to you. The full coverage area lays out every town.
Being based here matters to me. I'm not a chain or a warehouse three states away. I'm one person in Lubbock who answers the phone, shows up when I say I will, and has to run into you around town afterward. That's reason enough to do the job right the first time.
